Sanjay, Nana and Sonu 'encounter' a common factor!

    Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

Sanjay Dutt's DEPARTMENT has been completed for a while now. Nana Patekar is already busy with the sequel of AB TAK CHAPPAN. On the other hand Sonu Sood's MAXIMUM is gearing up for release before Sanju and Nana arrive. Other than the fact that each of the three actors are playing a cop in the film, another common factor is that not just are the three films based out of Mumbai, they also showcase the 'real and serious' side of the police department.

"DEPARTMENT, AB TAK CHAPPAN sequel and MAXIMUM are aiming at exploring the mindset of a cop. Moreover Sanju, Nana as well as Sonu are playing encounter specialists in their respective films. Really, the similarities in each of these films are way too difficult to be ignored," comments an observer.

One does get further suspicious about the same setting being explored since makers of these films have a history of telling hard hitting and raw tales.

An industry expert comments, "While Ram Gopal Varma, the director of DEPARTMENT, has a history of excelling in films belonging to this genre. He was the one who has been behind AB TAK CHAPPAN as well its sequel. On the other hand Kabir Kaushik had started his career with critically acclaimed SEHER (with Arshad Warsi) and is now returning to his roots with MAXIMUM."

We just hope that the core storyline is different at the least.
